LX708 LX706 LX705 System Program (Ver.1.07)


HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your LX708 / LX706 / LX705.
 
  1. Press the [] (settings) button.
  2. Turn the [] ( select/confirm ) knob to select "Version."
  3. Press the [] ( select/confirm ) knob.
    The version information is displayed.
    If this shows the latest version (version 1.07 or later), there's no need to update your LX708 / LX706 / LX705.
  4. Press the [] (settings) button.

[ Ver.1.07 ] DEC 2019
Additional Function
  • "Dynamic 2" was added to "Speaker Setting." <LX706 / LX705>

    * The sound from Output Jacks and Phones Jacks does not change when the speaker setting is switched.

* If you're using the LX708, nothing is changed from version 1.04.

[ Ver.1.06 ] JUL 2019
Additional Function
  • We add the function "Speaker Setting" to choose speaker sound appropriate for the environment you play in.
    You can choose parameter in "Speaker Setting" placed after "Volume Limit" in Function Mode.
    Please select your preferred parameter from two options; New "Dynamic" which sound is bright and sparkling, or original "Natural" which is rich and expressive.
    The default setting will be "Dynamic" after the update.<LX706 only>
    * The sound from Output Jacks and Phones Jacks does not change when the speaker setting is switched.

* If you're using the LX705, nothing is changed from version 1.05.
* If you're using the LX708, nothing is changed from version 1.04.

  • In SMF recording, the speed of the rotary effect for the organ sound failed to be recorded.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR LX708 / LX706 / LX705
  • LX708 / LX706 / LX705
  • USB Memory
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a LX708 / LX706 / LX705.
  • A computer with a USB connector ( Windows, Mac )
  • Update file downloaded from this page

CAUTIONS WITH THE UPDATE
  • We recommend that you save your user data to a USB memory before you perform the update. If a problem occurs and your user data is lost, you will be able to restore the original state by reloading the data you saved. For details on the procedure, refer to the following sections of the Owner's Manual.
    • Initializing the Memory (Format Media)
      * This formats the USB memory device.
    • Saving Piano Settings (Piano Setup Export)
    • Loading Piano Settings (Piano Setup Import)
    • Recording Your Keyboard Performance - Copying a recorded song
    * Please be aware that "Ambience Type" is not saved to the USB memory device.
  • Never power-off your while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Download the file named "lx700_sys_v107.zip".
It is an archive file in zip format, please double click on the file to expand. After expanding the file, the folder "lx700_sys_v107" holding the file "R074_UPA.BIN" will be appeared.

PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
 
Creating the Update USB Memory
  1. Copy update files R074_UPA.BIN to the root directory of a USB Memory.

Update Procedure
  1. Open the keyboard cover.
    Opening the keyboard cover automatically turns on the power.
  2. Press and hold the power button to turn off the power.
    Pressing and holding the power button makes the message "Don't disconnect the power." appear on the display. When the display disappears, the power is turned off.
  3. Connect the USB Memory to the USB memory Port on the digital piano.
  4. Hold down the [ Piano Designer ] button and turn on the power to the digital piano.
    Continue to hold down the [ Piano Designer ] button until " ===update=== " appears on the display.
    The message " ===update=== " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
    * The display might disappear for about 20 seconds while the update is in progress. Wait for the display to reappear.
  5. When the message " complete. ===update finished.=== " appears, the update operation has finished.
    * The update operation takes about 2 minutes.
  6. Press and hold the power button to turn off the power.
    Detach the USB Memory from the digital piano.
