JUNO-D6/D7/D8 System Program ( Ver.1.10 )


HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your JUNO-D6 / JUNO-D7 / JUNO-D8.
  1. Press [ MENU ] to invoke the MENU screen.
  2. Move the cursor to "INFORMATION" and press the [ ENTER ] button.
    Displays the system program version.
* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update your JUNO-D6 / JUNO-D7 / JUNO-D8.


UPDATE HISTORY
[ Ver.1.10 ] SEP 2024
[ Specification changes ]
  • The default value for Auto Off has been changed to 20 minutes.
    * For information on the Auto Off function, please refer to the [Reference Manual].
[ Additional Functions ]
  • A "SAMPLE IMPORT" function has been added, which allows you to import and play Samples.
  • In Multipart mode, the part level is now shown on the display.
  • Added USB Audio Input Level/Output Level to the parameters that can be assigned to the SOUND MODIFY knob.
  • When playing arpeggios, a function has been added to turn the Arpeggio Hold Switch on/off by pressing [SHIFT] + [ARPEGGIO].
  • Added the function to turn the Loop ON/OFF for the sound played by pressing [SHIFT] + Pads [1] to [8] in the Audio Player.
  • Added a function to the Audio Player that allows you to set the Start Point/End Point by pressing [SHIFT + [ENTER] during playback.
    For more information, see "Playing back audio files (audio player)" in the Reference Manual.
  • A function has been added that holds the sounds played by pressing [SHIFT] and pads [1] - [8] when the Phrase Pads are lit light blue.
[ Functionality Improvements ]
  • Sequence data has been set for all Preset Scenes.
  • When using an iPhone for USB Audio Input, it is now possible to adjust the audio input level using the iPhone's level adjustment.
  • The button color has been changed when selecting a tone.
[ Bug Fixes ]
  • Minor bugs were fixed.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE
  • JUNO-D6 / JUNO-D7 / JUNO-D8
  • USB Memory
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a JUNO-D6 / JUNO-D7 / JUNO-D8.


CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the JUNO-D6 / JUNO-D7 / JUNO-D8. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your JUNO-D6 / JUNO-D7 / JUNO-D8 while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the JUNO-D6 / JUNO-D7 / JUNO-D8 won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.


GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
  1. Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the "I agree" check box.
  2. Click the "Download File" button to download the system program (junod_sys_v110.zip).
  3. Unarchive the downloaded file.
    • Windows: Right-click the file and select "Extract All," then click "Extract".
    • macOS: Double-click the file to unzip it.


PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
  • You must not rename the extracted files.
  • Never turn off the JUNO-D6 / JUNO-D7 / JUNO-D8's power while the update is in progress.

Creating the Update USB flash drive
  1. Copy "JUNOD_UPA_up.bin" to the level displayed immediately on accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive's root directory).

Update Procedure
  1. Connect the USB Memory to the USB MEMORY port.
  2. Hold down the [ WRITE ] button and turn on the power.
    The message " Updater... " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
    * Continue to hold down the [ WRITE ] button until " Updater... " appears on the display.
  3. When the message " Please power off " appears, the update operation has finished.
    * The update operation takes about 4 minutes.
  4. Press the power button to turn off the power.
    Detach the USB Memory from the JUNO-D.

    This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
    Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.
