Aerophone Pro AE-30 System Program ( Ver.2.03 )


CHECK WHAT VERSION YOU'RE USING
Before you start, check the system program version of your Aerophone Pro AE-30.
 
  1. Turn on the power.
  2. Press the [MENU] button to display the menu screen.
  3. Operate the [ - ] [ + ] ( </> ) button to select "Version."
    The current version is shown on the display.
    * Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.
  4. Press the [SCENE] button to return to the scene screen.

Functionality Improvements
  • In "Restoring the Factory Settings", resetting of Bluetooth settings (initialization of Bluetooth) has been eliminated.
    Bluetooth settings persist when the operation in "Restoring the Factory Settings" is carried out.
    * To reset (initialize) Bluetooth settings, carry out the "Bluetooth Reset" operation.

Additional Functions
  • An "Output Mode" has been added to enable switching the audio signal output from the PHONES jack and the OUTPUT jack between stereo and monaural.
  • A "Bend Range Mode" for making settings for the operation of the Bend Range has been added.
  • A "Transpose Knob Mode" has been added for making settings for the functionality of the [TRANSPOSE] knob.
  • "Scene Shortcut" has been added for using shortcuts to switch between scenes.
  • "All Effects Off" has been added to turn off all effect settings made for scenes.
 
Change the specifications
  • Parameter category of Assign Source setting have been changed from "Scene Setting" to "System Settings".
  • Part MFX have been enabled for SuperNATURAL tones.
 
Functionality Improvements
  • Operation when the Bite Ctrl Mode is set to "E-Wind" has been improved.
  • The response speed of the Breath Sensor has been improved.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR Aerophone Pro AE-30
  • Aerophone Pro AE-30
  • AC adaptor
  • USB Memory (Type-C)
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on Aerophone Pro AE-30.
    * If the memory cannot be formatted on the AE-30, use a computer to format it as FAT32.
  • A computer with a USB connector ( Windows, Mac )

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the Aerophone Pro AE-30. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your Aerophone Pro AE-30 while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the Aerophone Pro AE-30 won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Please open/extract the downloaded "ae30_sys_v***.zip"file on your computer to get the update file in the "ae30_sys_v***" folder. (*** indicates the version)
< Caution: If you are using macOS >
Do not double-click on the downloaded file "AE-30_UPA_up.bin".
Double-clicking "AE-30_UPA_up.bin" will cause the file to be extracted into multiple files.
Extracted files cannot be used for updating.
Please use "AE-30_UPA_up.bin" for it.

PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
  • A factory reset is performed during the update procedure, and so all values set using "System Settings" are returned to their default values. Before you perform the update, refer to the owner's manual and make a written note of the values of settings made with "System Settings."
  • You must not rename the extracted file.
  • When performing an update, be sure to connect the AC adaptor included with the Aerophone Pro AE-30.
  • Never turn off the Aerophone Pro AE-30's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the Aerophone Pro AE-30 itself may be destroyed.

Please install the extracted system program file into your Aerophone Pro AE-30 according to the following procedure.

Creating the Update USB Memory
  1. Copy update files AE-30_UPA_up.bin to the root directory of a USB Memory.

Update Procedure
  1. Connect the USB Memory to the USB Port on the Aerophone Pro AE-30.
  2. Hold down the octave key [ +2 ] and [ -2 ] buttons and turn on the power.
    The message " AE-30 Updater " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
  3. When the message " Please Power Off " appears, the update operation has finished.
    Turn the Aerophone Pro AE-30 power off.
    * The update operation takes about 3 minutes.
  4. Detach the USB Memory from the Aerophone Pro AE-30.
  5. Continue with execution of the Factory Reset.
    Turn Aerophone Pro AE-30 power ON.
  6. Press the [ MENU ] button.
    The Menu screen appears.
  7. Use the [ - ] [ + ] ( < / > ) buttons to select "Factory Reset," and press the [ MENU ] button.
    A confirmation message appears.
  8. Press the [ + ] ( > ) button.
  9. Press the [ MENU ] button.
    The display indicates " Executing..., " and the factory reset operation will be executed.
  10. Turn the power off, then on again.
