Artist Bio
Andy Summers rose to fame in the early 1980s as the guitarist with the legendary rock band The Police. They were the number-one band of the time, dominating the music scene and media with several hit records including “Every Breath You Take,” “Roxanne,” “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic,” “Invisible Sun,” and “Message in a Bottle.” The band has received several GRAMMYs and other awards too numerous to mention. Andy’s innovative playing with The Police created a new paradigm for guitarists in this period and has been widely imitated ever since.
Prior to The Police, Andy played with various acts in the London scene including Soft Machine, Kevin Coyne, and Kevin Ayers. Post-Police, he has made 13 solo records, collaborated with many other musicians, and toured the world as a solo artist. In addition, he has composed film scores, and along with many photo gallery exhibitions, published books of his photography.
JC-120 Testimonial
The Roland JC-120 has been a staple in my collection of amplifiers for as long as I can remember—probably from the day it came out! I have used it on many recordings for its distinctive clarity of sound and always-superior chorus. If I am playing away from home and amps have to be supplied, my first choice is always the JC 120. It is a no-fail amp in just about every situation.
